Learn the art of at-home tea: understanding loose leaf, building your tea bar, tea recommendations, and my secret recipe vault. WIth some printable recipe cards too!
1 we bought road trip bingo cards when my kids were little and they loved it
2 we do the olad method - one load a day. I throw in a load in the morning (or one of my kids does) and then whoever goes downstairs first switches it. Then at night myself or one of the kids sort it and then each person is responsible for folding it. Obviously my kids are older now but before that my husband and I split it. It’s just a series of 3 5 minute tasks, making it so bearable I barely notice it. Hope it helps!
Egyptian Ratslap (crazy name, awesome game) is one of our favorites. We also love Tenzi, which is a dice game but still just as fun.
Also, for laundry, have you ever read Liturgy of the Ordinary? She has a great chapter on Making the Bed that talk about the parallels between worship and repetitive work. Love a good fun laundry scent too.
Every time I open a Feeling! Magazine email I have an entire week's worth of activities/hobbies/pursuits that I want to try. Help! (But also thanks. :))
Loved this! Thank you for sharing. Tea became my passion during COVID, and it’s so comforting. My favorite tea shop is Simpson & Vail! They are a family-owned shop that’s been around since 1929, and they have an amazing online shop. My fave is the Bronte Sister’s tea: black tea with papaya pieces.
Also thanks for this post! I've been a barista for years and yet there's so much I did not know about the intricacies of tea and the differences between blends. So interesting!
I love how expansive and global it is. I can never learn it all and that’s so exciting!! Thanks for reading - hope you got some good tidbits to take back to the bar!
Ahh thank you! Thanks for reading! I always try to give away as much as I can swing. I know everyone needs some extra hope, even just a little joy, right now.
I'm in love for this post. I usually take my tea in mornings and after lunch. I feel that it is a moment just for me, a moment that bring me peace and good energy.
This is so lovely! One of my resolutions for the new year was to broaden my knowledge of teas (currently, my habits extend so far as brewing Hibiscus tea at home, ordering different matcha latte combinations at coffee shops, and frequenting a local boba shop that brews their own tea blends and also hosts tea ceremonies every month). This is the exact article I needed :) thanks so much for sharing, i loved hearing about your career journey in another one of your posts, it’s lovely to get more insight into your tea knowledge!
loveee this list! dying to try the Tebella Earl Grey Lavender!
as a tea fanatic i also feel like i have to spread to word about dilmah english breakfast tea. you don’t get it super easily in the west, but its the best english breakfast ever ☕️
GROUP PROJECT! ✏️
1. I’m coming up with a list of summer camp/family trip type of card games. Any favorites I should add?
2. Has anyone figured out a way to reframe laundry or make it more enjoyable? In need of some creative thinking.
My friends and I used to always play this around the lunch table and loved it! https://www.wikihow.com/Play-the-Palace-Card-Game
My extended family always plays Up the River, Down the River when we meet up :) Added fun if you bet with mnms or something.
Spoons is a fast-paced/semi-violent/fun game with a group of people (think go fish meets musical chairs)!
Summer camp vibes would be Werewolf (https://beziergames.com/products/one-night-ultimate-werewolf). It's just mafia and that's all kids at my camp ever wanted to play lol.
